Weekend moves, asset tagging, IT-first unpacking and a floor plan ready before the truck arrives — how planned office relocation actually works.
Tag every workstation, move servers and IT first, prepare the new seating plan in advance, and keep one coordinator per floor for handover.
Plan around the weekend
The cheapest office move is the one nobody notices. Pack on Friday evening, transport and install on Saturday, test on Sunday — staff return to a working desk on Monday.
Tag everything to a seat
Every chair, CPU, monitor and drawer gets a label mapped to a seat number in the new floor plan. Unloading then becomes placement instead of guesswork.
IT first, furniture second
Servers, switches, routers and UPS units move in a dedicated protected load and get installed before desks arrive, so network testing can start early.
One coordinator per floor
Assign a single person per floor at both ends to sign off handover. It prevents the classic problem of missing cables and unclaimed cartons.
Records and confidential files
Files travel in sealed, numbered crates with a register. Confidential storage should be moved under supervision of your own admin team.
